Why it is in this guide
A repeat family programme with clear morning teaching and optional adult participation. It adds a Mediterranean English option without assuming a child must travel independently or join a teen residence.
Who it may suit
Parents who want to study near their child, then spend afternoons together. Standalone child tuition is possible when the parent stays locally and arranges breaktime supervision and transport.
What to weigh up
The current official webpage says minimum age 7, while the dated 2026 tariff says 6; do not book a six-year-old on the tariff alone. This is primarily a morning course, not full-day childcare or the separately priced age-11+ junior camp.
Operating history and evidence
Official pages list both 2025 and 2026 seasons, establishing recurrence. The commercial review platform has mixed school-wide feedback: a July 2026 age-11 classes-only reviewer liked organisation; older accounts criticise junior accommodation or activity staff. A detailed recent independent parent report for the 7–10 family course was not verified.

Verified junior classes-only account
An eleven-year-old’s two-week classes-only review praised organisation and described teaching as satisfactory.
A short student account, not a detailed parent report; it does not evaluate the youngest family group or accommodation.

Older junior residence caution
A thirteen-year-old liked lessons and teachers but criticised the hotel accommodation.
Older residential-junior experience, not the family morning course. Use it to check the exact accommodation, not to generalise across all BELS stays.
Read the sourceAge, language and eligibility
The school markets courses to international visiting children and families; existing school enrolment is unnecessary. The current family page specifies ages 7–15 and English from beginner level. Parent and child learn separately, with classes grouped primarily by level. No Japanese-speaking support is promised.
What the days look like
Twenty 45-minute lessons weekly, Monday–Friday. The live family page lists 09:15–12:45 including a break; the 2026 tariff lists 09:00–12:15, so confirm the timetable. Family afternoons are free unless adding the separate Coast and Culture activity package.
Parents, accommodation and transport
Family hotel rooms, self-catering apartments or homestays can be quoted separately; parents manage daily attendance. School address is 550 West, St Paul’s Street. Tokyo families should budget for long-haul travel and onward connections, and verify walking distance and transfer arrangements for the actual lodging.
Included costs and the family budget
Dated 2026 summer example: €250 (Approx. ¥44,000) base tuition + €30 (Approx. ¥5,000) high-season supplement + €55 (Approx. ¥10,000) family registration + €20 (Approx. ¥4,000) child materials + €17 (Approx. ¥3,000) school insurance = €372 (Approx. ¥66,000) for one child/week. This assumes the parent is present at breaks; otherwise add €30 (Approx. ¥5,000)/family/week supervision. Parent lessons, lodging, meals and travel are extra. The BELS-branded tariff is hosted by an agent and should be reconfirmed directly.

Before you book
Confirm the child’s minimum age, class grouping, breaktime arrangements and exact timetable. Under-18s must have insurance, either their own compliant cover or the school option. Family accommodation remains quote-only, and an arrival transfer is compulsory when booking BELS accommodation.
Cancellation and refunds
Published terms allow cancellation at least 22 days before arrival with €55 retained; exactly 21 days costs 25%, 20–8 days costs 50%, and seven days or less/no-show costs the full invoice. Accommodation, insurance and any later booking changes should be checked on the actual quotation.
