Why it is in this guide
An established, small-class family-language option with a real five-year-old entry route and explicit parent-settling rules.
Who it may suit
Parents who want to study in the same building or explore nearby while children attend a manageable half-day.
What to weigh up
Children aged 5–6 stay on site rather than joining museum study visits. Families must organise the rest of each day, lodging and travel.
Operating history and evidence
Official 2025 and 2026 material establishes repeat operation. Trustpilot hosts 32 operator-wide reviews, including a 2024 parent report about two weeks of Collingham mornings. Reviews are mostly positive but self-selected and older, with none recorded in the last 12 months at the check; they do not independently verify safeguarding.
Age, language and eligibility
International visiting families are explicitly invited and do not need to be enrolled at Collingham College. For ages 5–6, a parent/guardian must study there or remain at school until the child is settled; parents bring and collect non-residential children. The main young-child option is half-day, with full day for ages 13–17 only; beginner classes are for under-10s only, so older beginners need a suitable placement confirmed, and Japanese-language support is not guaranteed.
What the days look like
15 hours weekly, Monday–Friday 09:00–12:30; afternoon 13:30–17:00 runs only if demand supports it. Older juniors have a museum study visit and Friday project presentations; 5–6s learn through on-site activities.
Parents, accommodation and transport
Arrange your own London accommodation and airport transfers. Kensington is convenient for the programme, but lodging and daily commuting are major parts of the family budget. Allow recovery time after the long flight from Tokyo.
Included costs and the family budget
Historical 2026 tuition: child £475/week; adult £510/week. Materials, reports and applicable study-visit admission included. Accommodation, flights, insurance and optional family socials are extra; socials were advertised at about £15–£40/person.
Before you book
Request the new season's dates and fees, check the age-specific timetable and beginner rule, and confirm the parent-settling arrangement. Do not interpret old '2026 Now Booking' banners as live availability. Published summer study lasts 1–7 weeks, so a two-week stay is straightforward in principle.
Cancellation and refunds
Published day-course policy: £100 non-refundable deposit; cancellation more than 30 days before arrival loses the deposit, less than 30 days loses all course fees. Written notice required. The wording does not resolve exactly 30 days; confirm with the school.
