Why it is in this guide

Epsom College Malaysia / GEP language camps: One of the clearer Malaysian options for a sustained English-and-boarding experience, with a documented international intake and several years of operation.

Who it may suit

Best for 9+ learners ready for structured days and some independence. The winter day option could work with a parent staying nearby, subject to exact venue confirmation.

What to weigh up

Not a parent-child residential holiday. Parents cannot stay on campus; January dates may extend beyond a Japanese school's winter break. Do not assume automatic fluency gains or a fixed nationality mix.

Operating history and evidence

The official 2026 brochure describes 300+ participants from 16 countries in 2025. An independently published Japanese parent blog records a 2023 boarding visit; it is one older family account, not an audit. Provider testimonials are marketing.

Age, language and eligibility

International non-enrolled campers are evidenced by the official international intake and overseas travel arrangements. If the parent does not reside in Malaysia, GEP terms require an appointed in-country guardian able to reach camp within 3 hours. Parents on a short stay should confirm whether their arrangement satisfies this requirement. If GEP emergency guardianship is needed, it may cost RM800/day; this is conditional, not an automatic daily charge. Summer: 9–17; Winter Discovery 2027: 9–14. English classes are level-matched using the Oxford Placement Test in the summer programme. Japanese pastoral support is listed for summer; verify winter support separately.

What the days look like

Summer: morning English and projects, afternoon sports/enrichment, evening house activities. Winter uses English learning, team challenges and cultural outings; request its final daily timetable.

Parents, accommodation and transport

Summer is full-board boarding with laundry. Winter offers boarding or day attendance. Parents arrange separate lodging. Tokyo planning: use Kuala Lumpur as the gateway, then a ground transfer; verify the winter campus and chaperone route before buying flights.

Included costs and the family budget

2026 summer reference: RM11,100/13 days or RM20,000/26 days, tax-inclusive. Winter 2027: RM10,000 residential or RM9,100 day per 13-day session; 25 days RM20,000/RM18,200. Winter tax/transfer inclusions need confirmation. Flights, parent lodging and insurance require separate budgets; BSS terms add RM2,000 security deposit.

Before you book

Confirm exact winter venue, English placement, guardian arrangements (including whether a parent on a short stay qualifies), permitted parent contact, room grouping, insurance and all transport/tax charges. Published dates are not a live seat guarantee. Summer 2026: 13 or 26 days; winter 2027: 13 or 25 days.

Cancellation and refunds

May 2026 GEP terms: withdrawal more than 60 business days before start returns fees less RM1,000 and transaction/third-party costs. Later withdrawal may receive a one-year credit less RM1,000 only for an accepted reason, otherwise fees are forfeited. No refund after start; reconfirm applicable 2027 terms.
