Why it is in this guide
A real age-five route distinct from teen-only university camps, with explicit daily parent/guardian collection.
Who it may suit
Families who can stay in Metro Vancouver and want a school-day English routine for a primary-age child.
What to weigh up
A practical but lower-confidence shortlist entry: current child-camp venue and rates need confirmation, and independently hosted young-child reviews are old. Do not book accommodation around an old Vancouver address.
Operating history and evidence
A 2016 programme factsheet and the current 2026 official page demonstrate recurring operation. Language International hosts a verified-booking review of the 9–12 camp from 2017, alongside unrelated adult reviews. That evidence is limited, historical and hosted by a commercial booking site; recent independent parent evidence for ages 5–8 was not found.
Age, language and eligibility
International children from around the world are expressly invited, with no Canadian school-enrolment requirement; parents or guardians must drop off and collect daily. Summer Junior is for ages 5–12, with a separate teen programme for ages 13–17; the UBC residential listing is a different programme with a 9+ minimum and must not be presented as residential care for five-year-olds. All English abilities are accepted with age-appropriate lessons, but Japanese support is not guaranteed.
What the days look like
Official programme hours are Monday–Friday 09:00–15:20. Theme-based English lessons, activities and twice-weekly field trips; exact weekly plan changes.
Parents, accommodation and transport
Family accommodation options are advertised but not priced. The official contact office is 108–960 Quayside Drive, New Westminster, which does not prove the summer classroom location, so confirm the campus and journey before renting. Allow for a trans-Pacific flight and jet lag from Tokyo.
Included costs and the family budget
Current official camp fees are quote-only. Obtain tuition, registration, materials, lunch, excursions, transport, family housing and insurance separately; do not substitute adult tuition or old agency package prices.
Before you book
Require written confirmation of the 2027 venue, exact weeks, age-five provision, parent pickup process, staff ratios, lunch and camp-specific refund terms. The booking platform lists 1–6 weeks and the official six-week season supports a multiweek plan, but the minimum stay needs current confirmation. The official page notes that the short language programme is not PTIRU-approved and some short/low-cost enrolments are outside the tuition-protection fund.
Cancellation and refunds
Camp-specific cancellation charges were not verified. Request the policy attached to the actual junior-camp contract before paying; do not assume general career-college terms or an agency's terms apply.
