One of the clearer routes for a five-year-old to study abroad while a parent remains nearby. The family programme is different from the separate 12+ Brighton junior homestay course.

Families who want English classes plus a seaside base and can spend afternoons together.
What to weigh up
This is not all-day childcare: at least one adult must handle school journeys, attend lunches and join the activities. Budget for two people, rather than the child's advertised rate alone.
Operating history and evidence
Recurring operation is supported by official 2026 and 2027 publications. LanguageCourse.net has independently hosted verified-booking reviews, including Family Day Package Plus experiences from 2023; most of its 17 reviews concern other courses. Evidence is useful but small and dated, and the site sells courses.
Age, language and eligibility
A family programme expressly for international parents and children; regular school enrolment is unnecessary. Up to age 10, children are grouped principally by age; older children take placement tests. The 2026 factsheet lists A1+, so ask specifically about complete-beginner support; Japanese support is not promised, and the current class-size limit needs confirmation because the web page and brochure disagree.
What the days look like
Sample week: English 09:00–13:00, three afternoon activities and one full-day excursion. Remaining afternoons and evenings are family time.
Parents, accommodation and transport
Homestay or hotel options; full-package homestay includes breakfast. Family transfer prices in the 2027 brochure are £209 from Heathrow or £121 from Gatwick one way for 2–4 passengers, subject to luggage limits. Tokyo families need a long-haul arrival buffer before the first class.
Included costs and the family budget
2027 per person/week: full package £796; day plus lunch £618; day without lunch £563. Registration is £88 per family, accommodation placement £52, and dinner upgrade £52/person/week. Flights, insurance and family spending are extra.
Before you book
Confirm exact weeks, child-level placement, accommodation commute, meals and an itemised whole-family quote. Do not apply junior-residential supervision claims to this accompanied family course. Weekly packages run within a seven-week summer season, with a two-week family stay possible subject to availability.
Cancellation and refunds
2027 family terms: more than 21 days before arrival, retain £88 registration plus £100/person deposit and specified charges. Less than 21 days, charges include two weeks' package price, £52 accommodation placement and possible third-party costs. Ask how exactly 21 days is treated.
